“kriiiiiiiiiing!”
“hello, good morning,” was my sleepy greeting to a caller at 10 am, I finished work last night at one, y’know being a broadcaster is hard, doing all this stuff and that.
“ma’am, this is Sharlene from the lifestyle magazine, I am going to interview you for our paper,” said the excited tone of the journalist
“oh sure. When can we meet?”
“can we meet at the afternoon ma’am? At the coffee shop you own ate the Fort”
“that will be nice, see you then.”
Five years after graduation, I am now a professional broadcaster, as they call me, winning the Ms. Universe title 3 years ago had really changed my life, I am now 26 and lovin’ my life. I have a business and a job. Is life really complete?
“good afternoon ma’am. I am going to interview you for the December edition of the lifestyle magazine.”
“all the people know that you are now successful in your chosen career and that you have a good business, do you still have a dream?”
“well, yes I am successful, and a thank God for it, but I still have a few dreams left, and I’m gonna reach for it!”
“can you share us that dream ma’am?”
“first, I would like to be a PRISAAP Youth Congress speaker, I was one of those kids who are always present in congresses, and when I heard Mr. Onofre give his speech I started to dream that someday I will be one too! Another dream will be the next woman president of the Philippines, I always wanted to make a difference and I strongly believe that leading had been my call… so I think, I few years from now, I’m gonna run for presidency.”
“a very good dream ma’am, I hope that you will succeed, our country needs a leader like you. Ma’am, I heard that you are going this afternoon to Thailand to be the judge to the Ms. Universe Pageant?
“thank you very much, I hope that our countrymen would give me that chance to lead them. Yes I am going after this interview, I have heard that this is the most prestigious pageant ever and I am so excited though I know that it will be a tough job!”
“so ma’am, can you give an inspiring message? To our reader’s who have waited for this issue.”
“well, uhm, thank you very much for all your support and just keep on praying, miracle scan still happen in the Philipines, with God nothing is impossible for us. God bless us all!
That was the end of the interview, I am now seated in the plane to Thailand when I started to feel that something is wrong and all the passengers, the plane is crashing!”
“calm down! Calm down! Please take you seat, things are under control!” said the flight stewardess tried to tell us,, but every one was panicking, including me.
“aaaaaaahhhhhhhh! Heeeellllllllpp!”
“precious! Precious! Wake up!”
that was my mom waking me up because she can hear me shouting. Good thing it was just a dream, but I know someday I will be able to have that crown and to be featured in a magazine!
